Steps to Receiving Occupational Therapy Services at The Therapy Hideout
-
Contact us via phone or text at (732) 991-0474 or email (JWeiler@occuplaytionaltherapyassociates.com) to get started with setting up OT services for your child. We will set up a screening with you to help determine the best path forward for your child and the type of evaluation that is warranted.
Please note that we are in-network with many plans through Aetna, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield, and United Healthcare.
We will assist you with obtaining reimbursement for services paid out of pocket (if The Therapy Hideout is considered to be an out of network provider) by providing a detailed invoice for services, which you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
We will do everything we can to assist you with the process of determining what services are covered and whether a pre-certification or doctor’s referral/prescription for occupational therapy is required. Please see our Frequently Asked Quesitons for session rates. Time of service discounts are available for sessions that are paid for at the time of service. We accept payment in the form of cash or credit card.
Please note that The Therapy Hideout’s office hours are limited, so the easiest way to contact us is to send an email to JWeiler@occuplaytionaltherapyassociates.com or to text 732-991-0474. You can also call and leave us a message, and we will do our best to get back to you within 24-72 hours. Please ensure that you leave us your full name, contact information, and reason for contacting us in all forms of communication.

Based on results of the screening, an occupational therapy evaluation will be conducted with your child. A written evaluation report will be provided once the evaluation is completed. Standardized testing will be completed with your child if warranted and agreed to during the screening, and results will be reported and interpreted in a written report. Please note that evaluations that require standardized testing may take more than one session to complete.
-
Based upon the results of the evaluation, duration and frequency of individual OT sessions will be recommended by the occupational therapist. These recommendations may be guided by your child’s age, level of evaluated need for services, and family needs/availability. Goals will be recommended and discussed/reviewed with the parent/guardian to ensure that we work on goals that are most important to your child and your family.
-
Once a treatment plan is written, Occupational Therapy sessions will be scheduled with your child in the convenience of your home. Due to time constraints, sessions will generally occur on a set schedule on a weekly or biweekly basis.
-
Goals/objectives will be continually monitored throughout your child’s OT treatment sessions and documented accordingly. Progress notes are provided on an as needed basis and reevaluations typically occur on an annual basis, at which time the necessity, frequency, and duration of services are revisited in order to plan for the future.
